This booklet describes the values on which SIFAT was built and the attempt of the SIFAT people to live out those values. SIFAT began in 1979 as a training institute for church and community leaders from areas where basic human needs were not being met. With training in appropriate technologies for basic human needs and community development taught in workshops, seminars, retreats, and practicums, particpants are challenged and inspired to make their lives count to help those in need. SIFAT has a network of graduates in more than 90 countries.

SIFAT hosts children, youth and adults in their simulated Global Village where one can go “around the world in a day” or participate for a week in a Learn & Serve experience encompassing global concepts.SIFAT also takes short term teams for long term development to work with grass-roots leaders in developing countries who have graduated from SIFAT’s course.
